Wizero Battle

The Grimoire

The world, the vows, and everything you can cast.

Wizero Battle is set on the roads out of a cathedral that is barely holding. This is what is out there, what answers to you, and what it costs.

The world

Four things worth knowing before the first stage.

The stolen light

Something took the light out of Gloamwood and dragged it down the old roads, and the first stage of the campaign is simply the order to follow it. Whispers Beneath the Boughs is where the Sanctuary learns what it is actually up against.

The Sanctuary

A cathedral of purple fire and standing seals, the last hall that still answers to a living command. Four corridors lead out of it and twelve seals hold it closed. Everything you build, forge, and summon happens here between runs.

The Black Covenant

Power is not given. Before each four-stage act, one vow is sworn and held to the end of it. Hollow Star starves your mana. The Chosen Few caps your line at twenty. Swift Doom brings them faster. Each of them makes you stronger, and each of them can kill you.

Morrigan Vale

The first commander the Sanctuary will still follow, and the only one who can call Crimson Cataclysm. She leads from inside the formation, which is exactly as dangerous as it sounds.

Spell roster

Seven schools, one bar of mana.

Every cast draws on the same pool, and the Spell Tower decides how far it stretches. Select a spell to read what it is for.

What walks the roads

The bestiary.

Everything on this list telegraphs before it commits. Learning the tell is the whole game.

A sheet of Wizero Battle enemies including goblins, wolves, skeletons, wraiths, and a magma golem
  • Goblin raider Fast, cheap, and never alone. Sent to make you spend mana early.
  • Gloamweaver A pale spider that strings the lane and slows an advance to a crawl.
  • Dire wolf Closes the gap in a single lane pounce that hits the formation directly.
  • Skeleton knight Shielded, patient, and unbothered by anything that does not break bone.
  • Gargoyle Drops from the arches above the road, past the front of your line entirely.
  • Covenant warlock Locks rune missiles onto the formation. Interrupt the cast or dodge the shot.
  • Ogre A wall of muscle that soaks a full volley and keeps walking.
  • Wraith Chained, hollow, and difficult to hit with anything that relies on a body.
  • Magma golem The thing at the end of a corridor. It sets the road on fire behind it.

The corridor boss

Something is waiting at the end of every four stages.

A towering corridor boss rising over a broken road

An act is four stages long, and the vow you swore at the Black Covenant holds for all of them. The fourth stage is where it is tested: a corridor boss that punishes whichever weakness the vow bought you.

Hollow Star means you arrive with less mana than you want. The Chosen Few means you arrive with fewer bodies. Swift Doom means you arrive with less time. All three are survivable. None of them are survivable by accident.
